Welcome to my website!
I’m Kris J. Nitz. Most of my published work is in the children’s realm under a slightly different version of my real name with novels set in Tuscany, the Italian Tirol, and Missouri’s weinstrasse. But when an idea came to me during a GoodFriday service that could offer an unusual but illuminating view of the Incarnation, I couldn’t resist.
I never thought I’d write a historical novel. After all, it take six footnotes just to get your main character out of bed in the morning. But this manuscript is now out on submission.
My research provided so much context for Jesus’ actions, sermons, and parables. Now, I’d like to share it with you. Arguments continue, but many historians believe that Jesus’ earthly ministry began in January of 27 CE with the baptism of John. In the past, I’ve enjoyed observing anniversaries of major events by reading about them. This time, I’ll be the one providing a timeline and some extra context. I’ll be posting about various aspects of the Incarnation on my blog through the end of November, 2026. Then I’ll begin posting about John’s sermons in the wilderness, which took place sometime in 26 CE.
Since graduating from Michigan Tech with a degree in electrical engineering, I’ve lived in the Northeast, Midwest, Pacific Northwest, and the Italian Tyrol. My husband and I currently live near Grand Rapids, Michigan.
